Chasewater - Creating scallops (bays) on the edge of the woodland to increase biodiversity. Working in a different area from before, just a short distance up the slope (not as far as the benches) then turn left. Park near the station café as usual (postcode WS7 3PG - check car park closing time). Let Lawrence know if you need a lift from Burton.

Wharf Lane heathlands
- a Lichfield DC site near Chasewater - scrub clearance in a heathland SSSI. Grid ref. SK 045 070, postcode WS8 7PG. The site is along the canal towpath at the end of White Horse Road, Brownhills. The site is known as "Wharf Lane", but do NOT follow directions to Wharf Lane itself or you'll finish up on the wrong side of the M6 Toll motorway! Let Lawrence know if you need a lift from Burton.

Knowle Hill - balsam clearance (an experiment to suppress it in its early stages) at a Landmark Trust site near Ticknall. Take the Ingleby Road from Ticknall; ignore Knowle Hill Farm on the left; a bit further turn right to Seven Spouts Farm and follow track down. Postcode DE73 7JQ, approx. grid ref. SK 353 257. Parking is limited at the site, so people may instead wish to park at the Ticknall Village Hall public car park (free of charge) then walk up to the farm (1 mile).
